COVOL and TM series flowmeters have an explosion proof enclosure for those installation needs in potencially explosive atmospheres.
This ExProof protection, enables any series TM flowmeter turbine type or series COVOL oscillating piston flowmeter to be installed, with or without electronic converter, in an environment where it is probable to generate an explosive atmosphere due to air and gases mixtures, vapours, mist and dust as well.

The ExProof versions of these flowmeters are certified with protection type (Exd) for gases, and enclosure protection (Extb) for dust.
Series TM turbine type flowmeter with ExProof enclosure
These instruments belong to group II and category 2, for dust and gases. They are ATEX labelled as follows:
II 2 G Ex d IIC T6 Gb
II 2 D Ex tb IIIC T85 ºC Db
The ExProof housings are available with terminals for a remote electrical device connection or local electronic equipment such as CIPII model battery powered converter, or the models CP420 or CH420 electronic converters 2-wire system with flow and volume indication and 4-20 mA output.
In addition to the option of blind housing there is the option of housing with window to include those converters.
